Specially prepared test kits contain the test strip coated with different antigen profiles in a plastic holder and the test reagents in cartridges. For the test, antigen strips and reagent cartridges are inserted into the device and the patient samples are added. The tests are performed automatically. If the antibody result is positive, a dark color (dot or line) at a certain position on the test strip indicates the corresponding antibody. Color intensities of the strips are read in by a built-in in camera and result interpretation is performed automatically. Results can be printed out (optionally) or communicated into LIMS.
